Fairytales and wedding dresses | Searcy, AR Photographer

Since I’m still new to this blog and probably to most of its readers, I’ll give you some important information for this all to make sense.  I have a 7-year-old daughter named Bailey.  A lot of times, we call her Bailey Boo.  She is a mess.  Really.  One day she is all tomboy playing in the mud, climbing trees, trapping lizards and insects, and then the next she is all girl dressing up and prissing around the house in my high heels.

One day a month or so ago, while poking through a closet at her Nana’s, she found my wedding dress.  Oh, it was on then! She had to get into it.  I believe before it was over, she had some prom dresses out as well.  I can just assume that with my daughter’s overactive imagination, she was in some fairytale land prancing around in her gowns and dreaming of being a princess in a castle.

Last week, school was out for a full day and I had the pleasure of getting to keep my niece.  As I was trying to come up with something fun for the girls to do……it hit me!  I drove to mom’s, gathered up mine and my sister’s wedding dresses and veils, and then headed to the studio for a dress up day.  Needless to say, they were both extremely excited!  Secretly I was as well!! I got to relive the fun of being a little girl again playing fairytales and wedding dresses!
